Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you order or specify.

How long does a membrane take to cure?
Touch dry is typically 1 to 2 hours per coat. Full cure before tiling is usually 24 hours, and full chemical cure (e.g. for immersion) can take up to 7 days depending on the system and site conditions. Check the specific product's data sheet.
Do I need a primer before applying the membrane?
In almost all cases, yes. Primer manages substrate porosity and adhesion. Skipping it is the most common cause of membrane failure. Porous or previously coated substrates especially need it.
What's the difference between Class II, III and IV membranes?
The class rating describes crack bridging ability under AS 4858. Class II suits low movement areas like basements, Class III covers most wet areas and balconies, and Class IV is rated for higher movement substrates like large falls and sheet applications.
Can these products be used outdoors and are they UV stable?
WPM002 and our polyurethane systems are UV and weather resistant, suited to roofs, balconies and other external areas. WPM001 is formulated for internal wet areas. Check the product page before using it externally.
How many coats do I need?
Two full coats is the minimum for a genuine waterproof system. One coat is not a system. Higher exposure areas (roofs, planter boxes, permanent immersion) may need a third coat. Apply each coat perpendicular to the last for even coverage.
Do you ship Australia wide, and what does it cost?
Yes, we dispatch Australia wide. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your order weight and delivery location.
Do you offer trade pricing or trade accounts?
Yes. Sign in or register for a trade account to see net pricing, or contact us directly for volume/project pricing.
